Pre-actions are small & quick "setup" tasks you can assign points to that get students into action, FAST!

For example, we always include things like:

  • Whitelist our sending email address (so emails never go to spam)
  • Join the Facebook group
  • Sign the agreement
  • Claim the bonus ticket to our event
  • Book your travel
  • and more...

Traditionally, these kind of things can be challenging to get students to do. That's where Xperiencify can help.

When you assign points to the completion of any Pre-Action, you allow your student to start earning points immediately, get validated, feel like they're already making progress with simple things, and jump onto the Leaderboard with very little effort!

That's what we call a win!

Setting Up Pre-Actions

  • Edit the course in question, scroll to the Add Course Content section and open it
  • Click the Add Your First Pre-Action button
  • Type a name for your Pre-Action (ie: Join the Facebook group)
  • Type a description -- precisely what you want your students to do (ie: Click here, and request to join our Facebook group. This is where we answer questions and provide etc...)
  • Type a phrase into the Pre-Action Label field. This will be displayed on the box your student will click to check it off (ie: "Done it!")
  • Upload an image for your Pre-Action (or you can use the random image we gave you)
  • Assign an amount of XPs or XXPs to your Pre-Action -- when you assign XPs or XXPs to the completion of any Pre-Action, you allow your student to start earning points immediately, get validated, feel like they're already making progress with simple things, and jump onto the Leaderboard with very little effort! (Wondering what the difference is between XPs and XXPs and how to choose which one to use? Here's the answer!)

Note: It's now super easy to add links, downloadable files, videos, gifs, and more using our Editor!

Lots of people found these next topics pretty useful...
